Why not try both ways ?
Information & Misinformation.
For me, as a beginner it surely is quite confusing learning about these terrestrial snails we call GALS. The internet is both a valuable source of knowledge and teller of stories (from both experienced and novice snail keepers alike ) that I Could not have access to otherwise. However it is also a great source of conflict when trying to sift thru the information & misinformation.
Thru out this blog, I will report simply what I have found out thru research online of various sources, including scientific databases, online forum boards, Facebook Groups for GALS , groups about snails in general, online conversations w experienced snail breeders, etc. etc. I will try to remember to post links when applicable. I will keep private conversations anonymous but retell what I have understood from those conversations. ( meaning - not naming the person or the site/company/group / forum they belong to. )
I will share with you my trials and errors ( like accidentally tossing Harlan into the trash bin under a pile of sprouts & banana peel taken out of their container that morning. !!!! * longer story short, she is absolutely fine & probably very happy to have taken a field trip to a warm, squishy place, cuddled between a pile of turning snail food and leftover breakfast .
I felt horrible as you can imagine. )
This blog is my observations and my deductions and estimates in intrepreting the facts and figures as best as I can.
I do not claim at any time to be anything other that a beginner snail hobbyist who is finding her way following the rainbow of coloured snail trails.
